The diagnosis and treatment of specific back pain is important in radiology. Due to the high number of patients suffering from back pain, it is important to provide excellent diagnostic and therapeutic support. Based on a recent literature search and considering the relevant guidelines as well as expert opinions, the aspects of specific back pain important for radiologists in terms of pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment are presented.
FHIR – Overdue Standard for Radiology Data Warehouses

In radiology, technological progress has led to an enormous increase in data volumes. To effectively use these data during diagnostics or subsequent clinical evaluations, they have to be aggregated at a central location and be meaningfully retrievable in context. Radiology data warehouses undertake this task. The international standard Health Level 7 (HL7) Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) is particularly suitable for the implementation of such a data warehouse. This article presents an overview of FHIR and explains how to use FHIR to build a radiology data warehouse.
Performance of fast and ultrafast T2-weighted MRI sequences for common cerebral lesions in children

The use of fast and ultrafast T2-weighted sequences allows for low-motion-artifact imaging of the cerebrospinal fluid spaces and can thus avoid sedation in young children for cranial MRI (cMRI). It is still unclear to what extent these sequences can also depict other common cerebral findings in children. The aim of the study was to compare the potential delineation of common intracranial findings in pediatric cMRI with two fast and one ultrafast T2-weighted sequences.
